"We use this with our Shiba Inu and really like it. The chain releases easier than most martingales so it doesn't remain cinched when the dog stops pulling. Shibas are a bread that can easily slip out of collars so a no-slip martingale collar is essential if you aren't going to use a harness. We like this one because of the chain and also the quick release for easy removal. Martingales shouldn't be kept on the dog all the time, so not having to put it over our dog's head everytime we take her for a walk is a real plus. We've had ours a year now and it's in top condition."
